Installation
Required: Roller
Recommended: Edge Sealer, and Surface Sealer
Step 1. Clean surface. Surface must be clean, dry, and in good repair. Repair any damaged surfaces. Remove oils, dirt and flaking paint. Do not install on any large cracks, pits, or grout lines. Surface temperature must be above 60˚F.
Note: Porous surfaces like untreated wood and concrete should be sealed with a primer like our Surface Sealer. This will prevent water from prematurely degrading the adhesive. Using supplied brush, apply only a thin film of Surface Sealer to where you’ll install No-slip Tapes and let dry. On a nice sunny day it takes about 5 minutes for the Surface Sealer to dry. Our 17 ounce Surface Sealer will cover up to 25 square foot. Therefore it is adequate for most projects.
Step 2. Peel backing paper from product and place No-slip Tape about 0.5" (half an inch) from edge of step. We do not recommend that you install it right on the edge. Doing so will reduce product life. Do not install on a curved surface. Use a Roller to activate adhesive.
Note: Apply our optional Edge Sealer to seal the edges of No-slip Tapes and prevent moisture from going underneath and prematurely degrading the adhesive. Only a very small amount is needed. A single tube of our Edge Sealer will cover 120 feet - more than adequate for most projects. You'll need to apply only a very small bead around the edges of your installed strips. Simply remove the cap off the Edge Sealer to expose the nozzle. Point nozzle to edge of installed strips and move nozzle around all edges while at the same time pressing gently on tube to allow a bead of Edge Sealer to come out and seal the edges. Allow 5 minutes to dry. You only need a thin film around the edges.
Step 3. Optional. Repeat step 2 above for optional "parallel strip application". This method gives you more surface area coverage. Install two or more strips in parallel and at least 1 inch apart. Our research revealed that the ball of your foot will often find a landing between the parallel strips and give you superior non-slip confidence. However a single strip per step will also provide adequate traction.
WARRANTY: How long will the No-slip Tapes solution last?
Average life is 3 years. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO USER: Our solution balances safety, ease of application, and removal. However user is solely responsible for evaluating the product and determining suitability. Every order ships with free samples for you to evaluate installation and removal. On most surfaces you should be able to hand-peel, with some effort, to remove. You may request free samples prior to ordering. Please use sample to test in an inconspicuous location to determine suitability on your surface. Please reference our return policy here.
Can I remove No-slip Tapes later?
Yes, our solution balances safety, ease of application, and removal. On most surfaces you should be able to hand-peel, with some effort, to remove. You may request Free Samples prior to ordering. We also ship free samples along with all orders.
How do I clean No-slip Tapes?
Clean No-slip Tapes with a damp cloth.
What sizes are available? Should I get a roll or pre-cut strips?
Pre-cut strips lengths range from 10 inches to 52 inches. Rolls have max length of 720 inches. Rolls can be cut with standard scissors. We recommend pre-cut strips for quicker installations. Moreover if you have many steps, then a roll may offer cost savings. So price both and compare.
How to Order?
Measure the length of each step (longest side of step) and subtract two inches. The result should be the max pre-cut length to order. It is ok to order a shorter length and we recommend not exceeding your maximum calculated length. You may also order a Roll and cut to size with scissors.
Accessories - Edge Sealer and Surface Sealer?
Use the Edge Sealer to seal the edges of each strip.
Use the Surface Sealer to seal porous surfaces prior to installing each strip.
What is your Shipping Policy? When will my order arrive? Do you ship International?
We ship Worldwide daily (e.g. Canada, UK, Australia, etc.). On average it takes 1 to 4 business days for an order to be processed and leave our facility in Gaithersburg MD USA. However we strive to ship next day. Click here to learn more. Transit time depends on the shipping option you choose during checkout. For example USPS Priority Mail average 1-3 business days within continental United States.
Do you have a local distributor?
We ship from a central U.S. warehouse to Worldwide customers. For example we ship to Canada and the UK daily.
Do you offer CONFORMABLE NO-SLIP TAPES?
Yes. Our CONFORMABLE No-slip Tapes adhere to irregular surfaces like diamond mesh stair treads. Any other peel-N-stick solution will start to lift in a short time because they are not designed for irregular surfaces. Standard traction-tapes have elastic memory and will eventually straighten. Use our peel-N-stick conformable No-slip Tapes instead. During installation, you will need to use a rubber mallet to gently tap on the strip so that it properly conforms to the irregular surface.
What is your Return Policy?
